In 2018, Nakul Raj, a civil engineering student in his third year, found himself facing an unexpected challenge. His father owned a small footwear shop in Agra, Deeksha Footwear, but their family was burdened with heavy debt. The financial stress led Nakul's father to suffer a paralytic attack, leaving Nakul to take control of the family business. At that time, they had only ₹20,000 worth of inventory, their house was mortgaged, and EMIs were still due. Determined to save his family’s legacy, Nakul borrowed ₹40,000 from friends and worked tirelessly—up to 18 hours a day—to revive the shop. Through relentless effort, he cleared all debts and loans, and his father regained his health. Today, Deeksha Footwear has grown into a successful offline business with a valuation of ₹4 crore. Now, Nakul is ready to take the next big step. Launching the brand Big Walk for the online market, his vision is to scale the business to ₹400 crore in the coming years. Big Walk will bring the same quality and craftsmanship that built Deeksha Footwear’s reputation, but with a modern, digital-first approach. Nakul’s journey from a student to the founder of a multimillion-rupee business is a testament to his resilience, hard work, and visionary leadership.
